Remembering Skip McLear

by on May.17, 2012, under Uncategorized

It is with great sadness that I write, that Skip McLear, my sister’s husband, left this world, last Sunday, May 13th, 2012. He died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving wife and two children, Jimmy and Lisa.

I remember when Skip was first dating my sister.  He was still in the Navy and we were living in Matawan, N.J.  He would sleep in my room, one of us got the mattress on the floor, the other the box spring.  I have lots of good memories with Skip.  We did a lot of outdoorsy stuff, from canoeing in New Jersey, to Jet skiing on the Chesapeake Bay.

Once I was looking for a tail light for my car, a 1958 Mercury.  Skip drove us from South Jersey back to Matawan, on Route 9, and we stopped at every junkyard along the way.  We also hit some real hard core junkyards around Newark.  Never did find that tail light.

I’m sorry to hear of James’ passing. A prayer and my condolences to Bernadette, Jimmy and Lisa.

I only met Skip a couple of times, but he impressed me as a good and caring man. May his memory be a blessing to all his family and friends.
